Pulwama: Thousands of people Tuesday morning participated in the last rites of deceased militant Yawar Bashir of Hablish Kulgam, who got killed in an encounter with security forces in Badargund area of Bonigam Qazigund on Monday.

In the said encounter, two other militants including top commander and an army man was also killed while as one injured militant was arrested. The encounter took place after militants attacked on army convey near Bonigam area of the Qazigund.

During the funeral prayers of slain Yawar, emotional scenes of women folk were also seen who were wailing in the crowd , beating their chests to mourn his death.

Eyewitnesses told The INS News that many rounds of funeral prayers were held due to the huge rush of people who were came from several parts of South Kashmir.

Later on , Yawar was laid to rest amid massive pro-freedom and anti-Indian slogans, at his ancestral graveyard in Hablish area of Kulgam district.

Pertinently , internet service is suspended and complete shutdown is being observed in the area.
