Sopore : Residents of Warpora took to streets on Saturday protesting against prolonged power cuts and water shortages in the area from past few weeks.
Protesting residents blocked Sopore_Bandipora road at Warpora.
“We have been facing prolonged electricity breakdowns in our area for several weeks now,” protesting resident  Nadeem said.
Protesters claimed that despite repeated complaints to the concern Power Development Department authorities ‘they are least bothered about peoples problems’.
Protesters dispersed after police authorities assured them that they will raise the issue with concerned authorities.
Meanwhile officials in PHE Division Sopore  claimed that their was a ‘fault in water tank and the problem has been solved. Residents will get water as per schedule today onwards only.’
However officials in PDD Sopore did not respond to queries despite repeated attempts.
