Ganderbal: Fresh snowfall started in tourist resort Sonamarg in district Ganderbal and upper reaches including Zojila Pass, Zero Point,T hajiwas glacier.
Reports said that Sonamarg and its adjacent areas have been receiving fresh spell of snow since Thursday afternoon adding that nearly six inches snow has recorded at Sonamarg area.
Reports further added that 434-km long Srinagar-Leh highway connecting the Ladakh region with Kashmir valley has been suspended for vehicular traffic from tomorrow due to fresh spell of snowfall and slippery road conditions. Hundreds of vehicles are stranded at Sonamarg.

DySP traffic Ganderbal Liyaqat Ahmad said that Sonamarg-Zojila-Drass portion of Srinagar-Leh highway recorded fresh snowfall since Thursday afternoon.
No vehicle was allowed on the highway as a precautionary measure, he added.
He also said that Beacon is clearing the road and the road will open for traffic sooner . (INS)
