Srinagar: The State Human Rights Commission has directed deputy commissioner Rajouri to arrange accommodation for its Sub-Office to be set up in the district.
Justice (retd) Bilal Nazki, the Chairperson of SHRC, said that commission’s sub-office is being set up so that the complainants of the Poonch and Rajouri may not need to come far to Jammu or Kashmir to pursue their cases and are facilitated to get their cases heard on their doorsteps.
Justice (retd) Bilal Nazki, and Jung Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Member Commission, also held sittings in Rajouri and Poonch districts of Pir Panchancal range on 7 and 8 November and heard the cases on spot pertaining to the twin districts. The complainants were informed in advance about their cases being heard on the above scheduled dates.
They also held discussion with the Bar Associations of the twin districts on issues, problems and the scenario related to the human rights in these areas and sought their assistance to aware people about the functioning of the Commission.
