Sopore: Accusing Forces of Vandalism and loot, residents of Zaloora village in Bomai area of Sopore in northern part of Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday said that forces had launched CASO late Tuesday in the area.

Media reports quoting locals said that the personnel of 22RR Of Indian Army and Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a search operation in the village at around 11pm on Tuesday.

“Forces started vandalising the properties and thrashing the inmates after nothing was found in village during search operation,” a local was qouted by media reports.

The residents also alleged that people , including women and kids were forced to spent the night in their lawns till 4 am.

“Even a 6 month old and his mother were not allowed to stay in their house,” they said.

Villagers, according to reports, claimed that when they went back to their house in the morning, they found a number of things missing including a golden earring.

He said that one of his neighbors’ godown was also vandalised and a number of items from there were missing in the morning.

Officials are yet to react to the accusations.
