Zewan: 30 J&K policemen were killed in millitant attacks during the period of Sep’ 16 to Sep’ 17 ,Director General of Police Dr Shesh Paul Vaid today said that

Vaid was speaking during the police commeration day today held at J&K armed police complex at Zewan today.

Vaid while reading out the names of killed personnel paid rich tributes to SHO Feroz Dar, and ASI Abdul Rashid killed during deadly millitant attacks.

Minister for Revenue Abdul Rahman Veeri was the Chief guest on the occasion as Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti who was to preside over the function couldn’t attend it as she was feeling unwell, Veeri informed.

Speaking on the occasion Veeri said that politicians feel safe because of the J&K police. He said that police has a multi disciplinary role in J&K and it should adopt a humane approach while dealing with people.

Highlighting the role of J&K police he said that it played a pivotal role during the 2014 floods which is recorded in ‘the annals of history.’
