Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Geelani strongly condemned the brand dashing of weapons by RSS activists in Jammu and said that Muslim community was being harassed and forced to chant “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”
In a statement, a spokesman of the amalgam said they were preparing ground for large scale destruction on sectarian basis and carry genocide like that of 1947.
“A well-planned conspiracy is being hatched to create a wave of racism and hatred against Muslim community in Jammu,” the spokesman added.
“But people of Jammu and Kashmir are united and organized, and such conspiracies will not be allowed to succeed.”
Referring to Arms Act, the spokesman said that “nobody can display even the licensed weapons in public places, and specifically when situations are sensitive and when there is threat to peace, or intentions to intimidate or harass people on the basis of religion, faith, sect and community.”
However, it was very unfortunate that law and regulations are applicable only to harass and suppress Muslims community while as RSS enjoy free hand to display arms, harass other communities and force them to chant Bharat Mata Ki Jai.
Lashing at administration and police, the spokesman said that they openly favour RSS’s aggressive policy and don’t feel their responsibilities to contain the sectarian trend, which obviously was likely to create and evolve disagreeable situations of sectarian row and 1947 like massacre in Jammu.
“Muslim community of Jammu need to be united and resist in peaceful manner this fascist mindset of RSS”, the spokesman added.
Leaving RSS people aside, the spokesman said, there was no dearth for those who have respect for human values and those who love peace. “Mischievous persons do play their tricks only when sane and reasonable people do maintain silence and don’t check the underhand activities of corrupt minded persons.”
Assuring Jammu Muslims of full moral support, the spokesman said that they should not feel lonely and that nobody will be allowed to repeat 1947 like situation.
In his appeal to global community, the spokesperson urged to take serious notice of activities and threats served by these “fascist” forces to Muslim and other communities in Jammu and Kashmir.
