Srinagar: After braid chopping incident in Wanbal Nowgam, unknown persons cut braid of a lady in Kaw Mahallah of Khanyar in old city Srinagar on Wednesday.

The victim identified as Muzammil Lateef wife of Lateef Ahmad gurra r/o Kaw Mohalla Khanyar.

According to family two persons jumped into the house from the neighbouring marriage hall, sprayed some substance on her.

“They chopped her hair and fled from the main gate which was closed from inside,” family said.

The family has recently shifted to this residence.

Protests have erupted in the area.

In Wanbal Nowgam two person cut the braid of a woman after threatening her to not raise hue or ‘they will kill her’. The husband of the lady had gone to drop children to school.
