Srinagar: Police on Wednesday used force to disperse protesting Aganwadi and Battamaloo traders while Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Alliance held protest demonstration over braid chopping incidents.
Aganwadi employees who begun there strike, week after Div Com Kashmir Baseer Khan assured them assistance, however protesting employees say that nothing ‘substantial is happening’ which has ‘forced them to come on streets again’. Police’s womens wing used batons on the Aganwadi employees and detained them.
Since the order of shifting of historic bus terminal at battamaloo to Parimpora was issued by HC, traders body of Battamaloo is protesting on regularly basis.
The joint traders body again protested at press enclave Srinagar, demanding government take a leniant view as the shifting will have a ‘serious effects on their bussiness’.
Police foiled their march towards the Civil Secretariat by detaining dozens of them at Lal Chowk.
The protest march was organised by traders, transporters, and street vendors Joint Coordination Committee Batamaloo.
Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Alliance held a protest against braid chopping incidents happening in the valley which have spooked off population especially women.
Girls and chirdren were part of the demonstration. JKPA has set up a helpline too.
