SRINAGAR: Vickram Club Baramulla clinched Kashmir Open Hockey Championship 2017 after defeating Singpora Sports club by 2-1.
The final of the championship was played at Bakshi Stadium.
14 teams participated in the tournament which started last month on September 25.
“It is important that youth are indulging in sports activities as it is the sports which inculcate values of team spirit, and sportsmanship in a player,” MLC Khursheed Alam said.
He was the chief guest and gave away the winning trophy to the Baramulla team.
He said the Government is making serious efforts to promote the sports culture in the State by developing infrastructure at various places.
The finals were played on Tuesday.
