Shutdown, Clashes in Sopore on Friday

Sopore:  A complete shutdown was observed in north Kashmir’s Sopore town for third consecutive day, on Friday, after killing of a local militant Qayoom Najar on Line of control while trying to infiltrate with all business establishments including public transport was off the roads.

Youth pelted stones on forces deployed in the area, who used tear gas canisters to disperse protesters.

Qayoom was killed in Uri on Tuesday.
