Vaid was speaking on a passing out parade of 140 lady Constables held at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur.

“Since 60% of the batch is below the age of 25 years and 36 pass outs are having educational qualification of graduation and above, these lady Constables will prove helpful in enhancing the working efficiency of Women Police Stations in the State,” he said.

DGP said that the increased number of lady Constables in districts will go along in curbing the crimes against women as women complainants feel comfortable with the officers and personnel of their gender.
