Major fire engulfs shopping complex in Ganderbal

Ganderbal: Major fire engulfed a shopping complex at Duderhama in Ganderbal, Thursday, damaging several shops but timely intervension put off the ablaze saving other shops including JK bank and ellaqaui dehati bank.

Fire broke out in a shopping complex at Tawheed Chowk Duderhama.

“Rooftop of J&K Bank was damaged in the fire,” eye witnesses told INS.

Station House Officer Ganderbal  Tariq Ahmad told INS that A police timely intervention of fire tenders and locals brought the fire under control and prevented it from spreading further.

Major losses in the incident is incurred, acvording to eye witnesses, by Sindh Hardware store whose godown was gutted in the incident.

The godown is owned by Bashir ahmad Shah of Haran Ganderbal.

Police is investigating the incident and the cause of the fire is being ascertained.
