Students claim ‘syllabus not completed’, officials say ‘exams will happen’

Srinagar: Students from different colleges demand postpone of  4th semester examinations claiming their syllabus is incomplete while officials say ‘they have completed’.

 

A delegation of students of Degree College Nawa Kadal, Bemina degree college, Amar Singh college told INS that university of Kashmir has scheduled 4th semester examinations of B.com and other streams from October 9, complaining that they have ‘not completed 40 percent of the syllabus’.

 

Students said there is no way that we can complete the pending syllabus within this short period of time. “We cannot cover 100 percent syllabus of every Subject, we have just complete two chapters in company law which though comprises of four chapters. Similarly in other three subjects. Either authority give us relaxation or give some more days for preparation,” said the group of students.

Assistant controller Examination, Manzoor Ahmad said, “As we have got inputs from College, they have completed their syllabus and we have issued the date sheet in interest of the students, it is the fault of their administration, so there will be no change in the syllabus.”
