Srinagar: Srinagar-Jammu highway remains closed for second consecutive day, on Wednesday,  after landslides occurred on the landslide prone zones of highway.

“In view of the narrow width of the NHW at Modh Passi (Udhampur) where damage has been caused to the road and a bridge due to occuring of landslide on 11.09.2017, plying of heavy motor vehicle on highway would not be feasible. Therefore, no movement of HMVs shall be allowed on the NHW either from Srinagar, Jammu or Doda/Kishtwar,” traffic police said.

According to officials  movement of only light motor vehicles  will be allowed from Levdora, Qazigund ‘from 1000 hours and all these LMVs shall cross Jawahar Tunnel by 1500 hours positively. No movement of LMVs shall be allowed from Levdora/ Jawahar Tunnel beyond the prescribed cut of timing.’
