Madhya Pradesh: In Madhya Pradesh to mark attendance students will not have to say ‘Present Sir/Ma’am’ but ‘Jai Hind’, the state government will make it mandatory from November 1.
The first district to practice this will be Satna, from October 1, a month before saying ‘Jai Hind’ for attendance is made compulsory across the state.
According to reports the School education minister Vijay Shah said the move is to ‘instill a sense of patriotism among students’.
“Jai Hind is acceptable to students of all religions so I have decided to introduce it. We just want to keep our culture alive which our young generation is forgetting,” Shah was quoted by HindustanTimes.
