Jeddah: Almost 1,400 surgeries have been performed for Hajj pilgrims, who have come from all over the globe, this month by Health Ministry hospitals in Makkah and Madinah.
The ministry, according to arabnews, has said that till Wednesday 147 cardiac catheterizations were done.
Adding to it seven open heart surgeries too were performed upon the pilgrims.
901 renal dialysis and 42 endoscopic procedures too have been performed.
The report also said that the number of pilgrims who went to emergency rooms reached 11,837, while 17,974 went to clinics.
During Hajj season the health ministry of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia implements ‘Save a Life program’, offering free health services including open heart surgery, cardiac catheterization, dialysis, endoscopy and childbirth delivery.
