Srinagar:
Protests broke out in Degree college Anantnag during sports festival organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police after police tried to raise the Indian flag, reports said.
According to eyewitnesses students attacked the podium and ransacked tents erected for the event. “Protesting students tried to burn the structures erected for the event however when police tried to hoist the tricolor students protested,” eye witnesses said.
Later students clashed with police and pelted stones. Police resorted to tear gas shelling.
