Bhadarwah: The ‘ruthless’ beating of a local Muslim youth by cops at Bhadarwah town of Doda district in Chenab Valley sparked a spontaneous shutdown while people assembled outside Jamia Masjid and raised high pitched pro-freedom slogans.
Locals alleged that the security guards of SDPO Bhadarwah Brijesh Kumar thrashed a local youth whom they identified as Mohsin Ganaie without any reason. The youth was beaten up in full public glare, creating panic in the area. People from Muslim community assembled in the town and staged a massive protest against the government.
Demanding stern action against the guilty cops, the protesters led by Anjuman Islamia Bhadarwah president Parvez Ahmed alleged that the youth was beaten upon on the behest of RSS goons who want to create communal tensions in the town.
The protesters raised pro-freedom slogans. “Some 20 day’s back a Muslim family had gone to Chinta Valley where they were mistreated by an RSS goon. Few youths identified that goon and thrashed him. On the behest of RSS, police today beat up a local guy,” said a local to news agency CNS.
The incident sparked shutdown and protest in the town. Anjuman Islamia Bhadarwah president Parvez Ahmed said that Police is acting on the behest of RSS to appease BJP government. “The RSS is using police to create communal tensions in the town. They have always thrived on the basis of communalism,” he said.
When contacted, a police official said that no youth was beaten up by any cop.(CNS)
