Anantnag: PDP General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir while addressing a day long convention of party workers in South Kashmir’s Khanabal said that there can be no alternative to talks for resolving the unrest in Kashmir.
In a statement to KNS, Mir said that PDP’s core agenda of talks with all stakeholders is being pursued by the party at all levels so that tensions may ease across the borders.
Reiterating that PDP’s vision to have dialogue had changed the dynamics of politics that led mass involvement of youth and today there was dire need for the centre to follow that model again.
Mir said that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had envisioned a state where difference of opinion and ideology would be democratically accommodated, he emphasised upon the party workers to reach out to general public and involve them in democratic process and evolve consensus upon imperative need of achieving peace in the society.
Underlining the importance of agenda of alliance, Mir said that it’s a historic opportunity for both the parties, PDP and BJP to ensure that there can be politically achievable roadmap with differences of ideology.
He lauded the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for her efforts to transform governance and achieving a stable and peaceful atmosphere. (KNS)
