Srinagar): Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) General Secretary Dr Yousuf-Bin-Ahmed Al-Othaimeen has invited APHC chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to 44th session of OIC Foreign Ministers conference at Cote-D’lvore, Abidjan, on July 10, and 11, 2017.
In a statement to KNS, Hurriyat Conference (M) expressed hope that the OIC will take serious note of the unabated human rights violations and the killing of innocent Kashmiris at the hands of Indian forces and OIC will play a role in getting this stopped forthwith. APHC hopes that OIC will lay special focus on the resolution of Kashmir dispute as well which is lingering since past several decades, and work towards its final resolution as per the wishes and aspirations of its people.
The statement said that the since past five years, Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz has been denied the travel documents thereby barring him from traveling outside the State and attending the conferences including those organised by the OIC.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has welcomed the recent speech on Eid-ul-Fitr of the patron of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatullah Syed Ali Khamenai and the subsequent order to Iran’s judiciary to follow and support Kashmir cause. Mirwaiz said that this statement has raised the morale of Kashmiri people and we hope that other countries who believe in justice and fairness will follow suit and support the just struggle of the people of Jammu &Kashmir for their right to self determination.
While thanking Ayatollah Khamnai for his unequivocal support to the Kashmir cause Mirwaiz said that the people of Kashmir hope that the order given to Iran’s judiciary by Ayatollah Khamnai will be duely reflected in the foreign policy of the Iranian Government vis-à-vis the Kashmir dispute.
Meanwhile APHC strongly condemned the imposition of curfew in downtown yet again. The statement said that government is deliberately imposing curbs in downtown on regular basis so that that economy of that area is crushed.
APHC said that people of downtown are being regularly punished for the continuous affiliation with the on-going freedom movement which is a worst form of state terrorism and highly condemnable. (KNS)
