Srinagar: United Jehad Council has appealed the people to follow the protest programmes of the Hurriyat leadership, while saying that the programmes from July 8 to 13 will be observed and restricted to its Base camp only.
In an emailed statement to KNS, UJC spokesman said: “UJC has full confidence on the joint platform of Hurriyat leadership and respects their strategy and protest programmes. We had given a programme from July 8 to 13, which gave rise to misunderstandings. So, the protest programmes will be observed and restricted to the Base Camp only. And the programmes for ground (Kashmir) will be decided by the Hurriyat leadership,” UJC spokesman said.
“We support the programmes of the leadership and appeal people to support them too,” he said.
Meanwhile, UJC paid tributes to the militants and civilians killed in Dialgam and Bamnoo encounters. “We assure the nation that such sacrifices will not go in vain,” he said. (KNS)
