Div Com reviews progress of alternate road to Gurez

SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan today convened a meeting to review the progress of alternate road to Gurez area. Additional Commissioner Kashmir, DC Bandipora, Chief Engineer Beacon, General Manager NHPC, Executive Engineer R&B and other concerned officers were present at this meeting.
The meeting was informed that the total cost of the project is Rs 44.87 crores with 8.20 km road length. Initial formation cutting of the road is already completed.
Div Com directed to complete all logical components of the road on priority basis including Macadamization, side bunding, Grade 1 & Grade 2 leveling, Brast walling and drainage work so that the road becomes motorable particularly for heavy vehicles. He also directed officials to submit the work report fortnightly to the Divisional Commissioner’s office. Khan also constituted a committee under the chairmanship of SDM Gurez and officers of BRO and NHPC with Transporters as its members.
The members of the committee shall visit the road and furnish a complete report to the Divisional Commissioner within a week so that all bottlenecks should be removed immediately and the project will be completed on time bound manner.
