SHOPIAN: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs and Information Department, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali early in the morning today on behalf of the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti visited the family of martyred constable Sabzar Ahmad Chak at district Shopian to offer condolences to the bereaved family.
During the visit, the Minister was accompanied by MLA Shopian Mohammad Yusuf Bhat.
Expressing grief and sorrow over the incident, Zulfkar Ali assured the deceased’s family that culprits would be nabbed and punished.
Extending sympathies to the bereaved family, the Minister said Chief Minister equally shares the grief.
Zulfkar Ali said no compensation or no replacement could fill the void that is created in the deceased’s family by his departure.
The Minister said J&K Police is facing a war like situation and Government would extend all possible support to the police to win this war. He added that the State Police is comprised of personnel from local population who are working tirelessly to protect the people of the State.
The Minister said likewise it becomes the duty of people to cooperate and support the police in their endeavors so that the law and order situation is maintained in the State.
Assuring bereaved family of every possible help from the Government, the Minister gave away Rs. one lakh from Chief Minister’s Special Fund to the bereaved family. He also directed the concerned authorities to complete the case of compassionate appointment in favour of the next of kin of the cop in the shortest possible time.
Later the Minister offered Fateah and prayed for eternal peace to departed soul.
Deputy Commissioner Shopian Mohammad Ajaz, Senior Superintendent of Police Shopian Ram Ambarkar also accompanied the Minister.
