Kathua Encounter: CM Omar attends wreath laying ceremony, pays tributes to slain policeman

Jammu, Mar 29: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday attended the wreath-laying ceremony of a policeman martyred in a gunfight with Pakistani terrorists in Kathua district.

The ceremony was held at Police Headquarters, Gulshan Ground, where Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, Minister Satish Sharma, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, and senior officials from the police, CRPF, BSF, and Army also paid their tributes.

The martyred policeman, identified as Head Constable Jagbir Singh, was in charge of the Safiyan police post and was among four security personnel Martyred in the operation.

Earlier on Friday, DGP Nalin Prabhat confirmed that two Pakistani terrorists were killed in the operation, while four security personnel, including Jagbir Singh, lost their lives.
