Budgam, Feb 20: A government school teacher lost her life after being hit by a dumper in the Old Town area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday, officials said.

Eyewitnesses told KNT that the dumper, bearing registration number HR55AR- 5574, was driven by an unidentified person when it hit the victim. The severely injured woman was immediately rushed to District Hospital (DH) Budgam, where doctors declared her brought dead.

The deceased has been identified as Shaista, wife of Fayaz Ahmad Dar, a resident of Housing Colony Ompora, sources said.

Meanwhile, authorities have taken cognizance of the incident, and further investigation has been initiated.
