Bandipora, Oct 3: Traffic movement along the route of the Wallur Ultra Marathon-3.0 in Bandipora will remain suspended for nine hours on Sunday, Oct 4, with Traffic Police issuing an advisory for motorists and announcing alternate routes.

According to the advisory issued by Traffic Police Rural Kashmir, the marathon will start from BSF Headquarters, Maddar, Bandipora, and proceed towards NHPC Pethkotha before returning to Chewa via Kangrihowk and the Wallur Vintage Road. Vehicular traffic on the said route will remain completely suspended from 5 am to 2 pm during the event.

Motorists have been advised to avoid the affected road during the marathon. Srinagar-bound traffic from Gurez, Bandipora town and the Bandipora bus stand will be diverted through the Bandipora-Sopore road, and the same route will be used for traffic travelling in the opposite direction.

Bandipora-Gurez-bound traffic from Srinagar will be allowed via Narbal, Pattan and Sopore before proceeding towards Bandipora. Traffic travelling from Ganderbal towards Bandipora will be routed via Sumbal, Naidkhai and Sopore before reaching Bandipora.

The advisory has been issued in the public interest to facilitate the smooth conduct of the marathon and ensure regulated movement of traffic in the area.
