Teetwal, Apr 09: Navratra celebration was organised at Sharda temple LoC Teetwal Kashmir on Tuesday.

The celebration began with offering of yellow rice & cooked potatoes as a tradition of Hindu New Year day called Navreh.

A statement issued to the INS reads that this was followed by hawan that was performed by a group of 75 devotees from Bangalore.

Puran ahuti was done by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara Aayushi Sudan, DC Baramulla Minga Sherpa and Chairman of Save Sharda Committee Kashmir Regd Ravinder Pandita.

The event was attended by DIG Vivek Gupta, SSP Kupwara Shobhit Saxena , Tehsildar Karnah and other officials from civil administration.

A large number of devotees thronged the temple during the day. This event marked successful completion of one year of commissioning of the temple. Ravinder Pandita felicitated Sharda followers throughout the nation on occasion of Navreh & Ugaadhi.
