Srinagar, Apr 10: Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated across Jammu and Kashmir today (April 10) with religious zeal and zest.
On Tuesday late evening, Kashmir’s Grand Mufti, Nasir-ul-Islam said the crescent moon was sighted in Jammu and Kashmir, making Wednesday (April 10) the first day of Shawwal.
He also extended his Eid greetings to the Muslim Ummah, especially to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “May this auspicious occasion bring with it a lot of joy, happiness, peace and prosperity to all of us”, he said.
Meanwhile, the biggest Eid congregation was held at Dargah Hazratbal shrine, where thousands of people are expected to join Eid prayers.
However, Jamia Masjid remained closed for the prayers today.
The children were seen buying toys and enjoying in the parks to celebrate the occasion.
