India denies Modi asked for Trump’s mediation on Kashmir

New Delhi: India has refuted USA president Donal Trump’s assertion that PM Narendra Modi had urged him to be an arbitrator between India and Pakistan over Kashmir dispute.

The Ministry of External Affairs,spokesman Raveesh Kumar, in Delhi in a tweet said that: “We have seen @POTUS’s remarks to the press that he is ready to mediate, if requested by India & Pakistan, on Kashmir issue. No such request has been made by PM Narendra Modi to US President,”
