Srinagar: Even as the authorities claim to ensure transparency in the government sector, the website of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has put a question mark over the offal claims as it has failed to update the website since long.

The website https://smcsite.org is still showing Peerzada Hafizullah as its Commissioner. Not only the Commissioner, but many among the employees mentioned on website at different designation have been transferred but remain unchanged on the website.

The former SMC Commissioner Hafizullah was transferred on February 07 this year, but after elapsing four months, the SMC has failed to update the website.

Interestingly, Tariq Ali Mir, the Commissioner posted after Hafizullah was also transferred recently but nobody in the SMC bothered to change the name of officers on website.

The officials in the corporation alleged not only the names but almost all the information available on website is decades old as it has not been changed since then.

A local resident from Karan Nagar told The INS that he called on a number recently for some issue in his locality but the person whose number was shown on website was transferred a long ago due to which he faced immense hardships.
