Police files charge sheet against 6 including 5 women for ‘discouraging people from election process’

Ganderbal: Police has filed charge sheets against six persons including five women in case of intimidating voters during general elections in 2014. 
According to a police officer the charge sheets has been filed against Farida (Farida behan ji) w/o Mohd. Maqbool Dar r/o Natipora Srinagar, Abdul Rashid Lone S/o Gulam Ahmed Lone R/o Tailbal Hazratbal, Mehmooda D/o Gulam Mohiudin R/o Dangerpora Sopore, Shakeela D/o Ghulam Ahmad Lone r/o shalteng Parimpora, Fareeda D/o Ghulam Mohd. Rather r/o safapora, and.Afroza D/o Habibullah r/o Lar Ganderbal.
“In the year 2014 case FIR No. 56/2014 u/s 132-A, 134-B R. P. Act was registered at Police Station Ganderbal against them,” police said.
They have been accused of distributing pamphlets and posters so as to discourage voters to participate in election process.
“During the course of investigation the alleged offences were established against accused persons and accordingly they were arrested and subsequently released on bail by the court,” police said.
Police however said that the accused were summoned for production of charge sheet against them ‘but they deliberately manifested persistent non-cooperation.’
“Police brought the facts before Hon’ble court Chief Judicial Magistrate Ganderbal and accordingly the accused persons charge sheeted u/s 512 CrPC,” police said.
