Sopore shuts over local militant’s killing in Shopian gunfight

Sopore: Complete shutdown is being observed in police district Sopore over the killing of a local militant in a gunfight in Shopian today morning.

The slain militant, Ishfaq Mushtaq Sofi from Model Town Sopore, was affiliated with ISJK outifit.

Business establishments are closed and traffic is thin on roads.

Authorities have closed education institutions and suspended internet services as well.

According to reports Sofi was associated with militancy since 2008 and has been slapped with PSA’s several times.

Prior to being active militant Sofi was arrested as an OGW of militants.

Prior to being ISJK affiliate, Sofi was part of Harkat Ul Mujahideen group but later switched over.
