Police have successfully recovered / blocked over Rs 7 crore 48 lakh, while other amounts are frozen or under bank liens.

The IGP also raised concern over triple riding, rash driving, modified loud exhausts and stunt biking, which endanger the lives of drivers, pedestrians, elderly and patients.

Citing a recent example, he said a 20-year-old BSc first-year student in Srinagar, who was posting stunt videos on social media, was brought in by police, counselled, and later used his own platform to appeal to other youth to avoid stunts and drug addiction.

IGP Kashmir appealed to youth struggling with substance abuse to come forward for help, assuring that their identity and privacy will be fully protected. He said drug rehabilitation support is available through centres, including the one headed by Dr. Muzaffar.

He also urged youth to stay away from fraudulent schemes, mule accounts and cyber scams. (GNS)
