Srinagar : Wives of former militants who surrendered under rehabilitation policy on Saturday protested against government for not implementing its rehabilitation policy and rue state apathy towards them.

 

“We came back under state declared policy but here we are being called illegal residents and state is not supporting us in any way,” protesting wives said.

 

They assembled at press enclave at raised slogans demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President of India to intervene in the matter.

They said that they came to Kashmir after the then Chief Minister Omar Abdullah announced rehabilitation policy,  believing state was true to its promise.

“We demand that we be let visit our families in Pakistan and state stands to its promises made,” they said.
