Sopore:  Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested three over ground workers of Jaish e mohammad outfit in Sopore area of Baramulla district.
A police spokesman said that  on 25. 01. 2019 at about 18:45 hrs unknown militants threw a hand grenade on SBI camp of 179BN, CRPF, however the grenade missed the intended target and exploded outside the camp.

“During the course of investigation three individuals named below were detained by police on suspension basis for questioning and to get a breakthrough of the case.
01. Ghulam Qadir Rather @ Kasir S/0 Mohd Shafi Rather R/0 Tarzoo SOPORE.
02. Aijaz Ahmad Khan S/0 Gh. Mohd Khan R/0 Naseem bagh Sopore.
03. Owais Khalid Dar S/0 Ghulam Mohd Dar R/0 Nageenbagh Krankshivan Colony Sopore, ” he said.
He said that during questioning, involvement of these three individuals have surfaced who confessed the commission of offense.

“It was revealed that the JeM based in Sopore provided 02 Grenades to these individuals for throwing on the security forces to cause life damage/injury to security forces personnel/installations and to instill fear psychosis among the general public,” he said.

“Moreover one Grenade was recovered from them. Accordingly they have been formally arrested in the case,” police said,  adding that investigation of the case is going on and more arrests are expected.
