CRPF trooper ends life after carrying this year’s first fratricidal incident to leave colleagues injured in Srinagar

Srinagar: In a first fratricidal incident, a paramilitary personnel fired upon two fellow colleagues besides committing suicide at 29 battalion camp in Panthchowk in outskirts of Srinagar on Saturday night, officials said.
They said there were some heated exchange of words between CRPF personnel Mukesh Babu of Madhya Pradesh with Ranjeet Tewari of Jharkhand and Jaafarudin Qureshi of Madya Pradesh on some issue upon which Mukesh fired upon them, injuring them both. The injured were shifted to army’s 92 base hospital at Badamibagh. Later, the sources said that Mukesh shot himself dead with his service riffle inside a bathroom in the camp. A senior police officer confirmed the incident and investigations have been take up.
