CS reviews progress of land acquisition proceedings for Srinagar, Jammu Ring Road projects

SRINAGAR: Chief Secretary, B B Vyas Monday reviewed the progress of land acquisition proceedings for construction of 4 lane ring road/by pass around Srinagar and Jammu cities.
Commissioner Secretary, PW (R&B) Department, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Commissioner Secretary, Revenue, Deputy Commissioner’s of Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal and concerned officers attended the meeting. Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Deputy Commissioner’s of Samba and Jammu participated via video conferencing.
Chief Secretary received brief from both the Divisional Commissioner’s in regard to the district wise status of the land acquisition proceedings.
Substantial progress was reported within all the districts and in most of the cases land acquisition proceedings were reported as being in the final stage.
Chief Secretary urged the concerned Deputy Commissioner’s to complete the land acquisition proceedings in the remaining cases quickly, so that land is handed over for start of the work on the ring road project in both the cities.
Commissioner/ Secretary PW (R&B) and both the Divisional Commissioner’s were asked to review the progress of the decisions taken with the concerned Deputy Commissioner’s and the NHAI authorities in the coming days to resolve any issue impeding smooth progress in the completion of land acquisition proceedings.
“The progress on this prestigious project will again be reviewed by the end of this month” Chief Secretary said.
