Anantnag: The residents of kamad villages are up in arms against the Power Development Department (PDD) for subjecting them to unscheduled power cuts in village.

The power outages have become a major concern here and despite the matter being brought to notice of Authorities many times, the situation has not improved. Said Mohd Hussain a resident of Kamad village.

In Kamad village the unscheduled power cuts have become frequent which is giving tough time to people as people have to depend on candles and lanterns during evening hours. The Power Development Department is resorting to forced cuts,” said Mohd Hussain, The aggrieved residents have alleged that Power Development Department (PDD) doesn’t ensure regular power supply to them.

However residents of various areas including Dialgam Lalnganoor wanihama Brinty in Anantnag district told to INS that they are also facing repeated power cuts during evening hours. Every day we face the problem of unscheduled power cuts.

In evening hours we have to grope in darkness as for maximum hours of the day the power supply remains snapped,” said a resident of Wanihama Mudasir Ahmad.

Meanwhile despite repeated attempts to PDD officials in Anantnag they did not receive our call.
