Four diagnostic labs sealed for flouting rules

RAJOURI : Four diagnostic clinical labs were sealed by the health department four flouting norms under Nursing Homes and Clinical Establishment Act in Rajouri district of Jammu division.

According to officials On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad, a joint team of officials from Revenue and Health Departments under supervision of CMO Dr Suresh Gupta raided 17 diagnostic/clinical labs at Rajouri town and Manjakote area.

“Taking swift action, the raids were carried on receiving complaints from various quarters about the functioning of unauthorised labs having non-qualified staff and giving faulty results of diagnostic tests thereby risking lives of patients,” officials said.

They further said that during the raids, 4 clinic labs were found running against norms under Nursing Homes and Clinical Establishment Act. All the 4 labs namely Aftar Diagnostic Lab, Kheora, Swastik Clinical Lab, Kheora, Sharma Clinical Lab and Al -Shafa Diagnostic Centre Manjakote were sealed immediately and action under rules was initiated.
