Infiltration bid foiled in Nowgam sector: Four army men injured in gunfight, reinforcement rushed

Kupwara: Four Army men have been injured in a gunfight between government forces and infiltrating militants in Nowgam sector along line of control in Kupwara district in north kashmir on Thursday.

According to sources Army personnel of 8 Bihar regiment of Army intercepted a group of militants trying to infiltrate in Kashmir valley but were challenged and bid was foiled.

“Exchange of gunfire is going on between both sides and four army men have sustained injuries,” sources said.

Sources added that more reinforcement has been rushed in.
