Tral : The residents of many villages in Tral staged a protest demonstration on Thursday and blocked Tral-Waged road over dilapidated condition and lackadaisical approach of authorities towards roads in their areas.
The locals assembled at Tral-Waged road near Pastuna chowk and Dhobiwan, they were joined in by transporters blocking the roads. Transport services are halted in the area.
“Concerned authorities along with lazy contractors have neglected us. They do not care at all. They are absolutely careless towards the plight of the masses of around 50 villages,” a protester Ishpal Singh told INS.
The protesters claimed that thousands of people live in the area from Tral to Waged, including Kuchmulla, Lurgam, Lurow, Dhobiwan, Diver, Hundoora and other areas have to suffer daily due to the dilapidated roads.
“Authorities many times assured us that the roads would be repaired immediately, but it has been a year now and nothing has been done,” the drivers complained.
