Militant body found after gunfight in Kupwara forests

Srinagar: Police and army on Monday said that an unidentified militant body along with an AK-47 rifle was recovered after a gunfight between militants and the government forces in Handwara woods in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district .
The gunfight broke out between a group of militants and a search party of the army and police in the forests near Khanpora Magam area of the Handwara in the frontier district last night.
“Exchange of fire between SFs (security forces) and militants in forest areas of #Handwara. Details will follow,” police had said on Twitter.
