Srinagar: Asking youth to shun sectarian thinking, Chairman Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani on Sunday said the universal message of Holy Quran is for all humans and is a source of immense inspiration, guidance and wisdom for whole humanity all over the world.
Addressing a day-long “Nazool-e- Quran “Conference at his Hyderpora residence, Geelani said Quran is a book not just to be read, but to be studied, understood, implemented in every sphere of life and ultimately revered.
Referring to the teachings of Holy Quran Geelani said that Quran lays stress on unity among all followers of Prophet Muhammad (saw), saying the holy book teaches to hold the rope of Allah and demonstrate firmness and steadfastness in all situations.
Before the revelation of Holy Quran on Prophet Muhammad, the deliverance of justice was a dream, but it is the Quran that inspired humans to deliver justice against all odds without consideration of creed, cast, relation and status, Geelani said.
Geelani expressed his deep concern about the miserable situation of Muslim Ummah, saying it is because we are not following Quran in its spirit. Most of the individuals did not distinguish between virtue and vice but are following different theories and traits such as honesty, truthfulness and spirituality are becoming extinct with every passing day, he said. Laying stress to follow teachings of Holy Quran, Geelani said this was the only guiding book that will lead us to prosperity and salvation, both here and hereafter.
Appealing youth to follow Qur’an and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) the Hurriyat chairman impressed them to shun sectarian thinking and hold firmly the rope of Allah.
Geelani in his address while referring to “forced occupation by Indian forces”, said it is sad, gloomy and unfortunate chapter of history. “Whole nation has rendered unprecedented sacrifices against this unjustified occupation,” Geelani said, adding India has no moral right to use military might against legal and due right of subjugated people in state.
The seminar was also addressed by JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, THK chairman Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, Gh Nabi Sumji, Molana Altaf Hussain Nadvi, Ad Zahid Ali, Hakim Ab Rashid, Gh Ahmad Gulzar and Molvi Bashir Irfani delineated objectives of teachings of Holy Quran and called for proper understanding and placed emphasis on following its teachings. The speakers spoke about various dimensions of Holy Quran and the everlasting message it carries to whole humanity.
Muhammad Yasin Malik in his address said that holy book Al Quran is the literal word of Allah (SWT), divinely revealed to Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) through the Angel Gibraeel (AS). Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was called Al Ameen because He was a truthful, honest, trustworthy person. Malik said that the behaviour of Prophet Muhammad (saw) with other humans was so admiral that even enemies honoured him by calling ‘the trustworthy’ or ‘al ameen’.
Hailing religious scholars for their services for Islam and spreading the teachings of Quran, Malik said that even Non-Muslim communities recognize Quran as the ultimate word of Almighty Allah.
Tehreek-e-Hurriyat chairman Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai said the word of Almighty Allah are a source of blessings and guidance for all mankind. They are a source of pure beauty of the expression, saying Quran is final and last word of Allah and it provides a true code of conduct for spending life in a peaceful manner and guarantees happiness and peace in the life of a man. Islam offers a belief system that possesses all the moral and practical laws that are confined and presented in the book of Holy Quran, Sehrai said and added that Holy Quran was sent for the guidance of all mankind for showing them the right path. He said that Holy Quran has been serving all the mankind and providing them solutions for the problems that arise in their everyday life and as such the true believer is bestowed with blessings even if he reads a single word from Quran.
