6 dead after avalanche hits vehicle at Zojila Pass

Srinagar, Mar 27: At least six persons lost their lives after an avalanche struck a passenger vehicle at Zojila Pass on Friday, officials said.

A senior official said that the vehicle came under a massive snow slide, leading to the death of six occupants on the spot.

Soon after the incident, rescue teams rushed to the site and launched an operation to retrieve the bodies and clear the debris. Authorities said the operation is ongoing and efforts are being made to ensure the road is restored for traffic.

Officials added that further details are awaited as rescue operation is on. (JKNS)
