Anantnag: At least 15 persons have been injured during clashes in Kokernag area of south Kashmir post funeral of militant on Monday.

According to Block Medical Officer Dr Abid fifteen people were referred to Sub  hospital Kokernag for treatment.

“Some of the injured have received pellet gun wounds,” sources said.

Intense clashes are going on in Ahmad nagar area Soura after youth pelted stones at a nearby SSB Camp  while the procession to bury Esa Fazili, slain militant, was marching towards umerher area graveyard.

eye witnesses said heavy deployment of police was already put in place who responded with heavy teargas shelling.

“Procession is dispersed but clashes are going. the area is filled with tear gas smoke,” eye witnesses said.
