Srinagar: A clear night sky has intensified further the cold wave conditions in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. Leh is coldest at minus 9.4 degrees Celsius, the Met said.
“The night temperatures dropped further today throughout the state. Present cold wave conditions are likely to continue till Sunday or Monday,” a MET department official said.
The minimum temperature in Srinagar city was minus 1.7, Jammu city was at 8.8 while Pahalgam recorded a minus 4 degrees Celsius on Thursday as the night’s lowest temperature.
Kargil recorded minus 7, the official said.
Among other places, Gulmarg recorded minus 2.4 while in the Jammu region Katra recorded 9.8, Batote 6.8, Bannihal 5.5, Bhaderwah 2.9 and Udhampur 5.3 as the minimum temperatures on Thursday. (Agencies)
