   Srinagar, November 20: Anantnag police recovered 12 kilograms of poppy straw and 3.5 kilograms of straw powder from the house of a drug peddler.

Acting on a specific information about the drug peddler, a police party led by SHO Dooru Inspector Mohd Yousuf under the supervision of DySP Dooru Shri Arvind raided the house of Fayaz Ahmad Shairgojire son of Abdul Aziz Shairgojire resident of Taragam Dooru in Anantnag district.

During the search the police party recovered 12 kilograms of poppy straw and 3.5 kilograms of straw powder from the said house. The accused Fayaz Ahmad shargojri fled away from the spot and is absconding. A manhunt has been launched to nab him.

In this regard a case FIR NO :119/2017 under section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Dooru and further investigation is going on.
