Srinagar, July 1: A combination of active monsoon winds and a Western Disturbance is expected to trigger widespread rainfall across Jammu and Kashmir over the next 72 hours, according to Kashmir Weather Forecast.
Rainfall is expected to vary from light to heavy intensity, although continuous rain is not anticipated. Authorities and residents have been advised to remain alert as flash floods and waterlogging are possible in low-lying areas.
The maximum impact is likely over the Jammu region and the Chenab Valley, with South Kashmir also expected to witness significant rainfall. The peak intensity and coverage of the rain are forecast during the next 48 hours. Central and North Kashmir are also likely to receive intermittent rain showers during this period.
The rainfall is expected to bring a noticeable drop in daytime temperatures, offering much-needed relief from the ongoing heatwave over the next three days.
