The felicitation recognised Khan’s outstanding and multi-faceted contribution spanning over more than four decades in the fields of theatre, television, and films. He was particularly honoured for his pioneering work in organising international film festivals in the Valley, which have created a vital platform for local artists and brought global cinema to Kashmir.

The ceremony was held in Srinagar, amid an august gathering of administrators, and cultural dignitaries attending the festival.

Expressing his gratitude, Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan said he felt deeply humbled and honoured to receive this prestigious felicitation. “It is heartening to see my years of consistent effort and pioneering work being recognised on such a distinguished platform. This honour belongs to every artist, technician, and volunteer who has walked this journey with me,” he added.
